Central, western Maine get brunt of winter storm Caly

Kingfield and other towns in central and western Maine topped the mid-day snowfall total from the brush with winter storm Caly, with more than 8 inches of snow.

The storm hit the state with snow pretty indiscriminately, delivering at least 2-3 inches to most parts of the state.

Measurements from the National Weather Service show Lewiston got more than 7 inches of snowfall, as of 11:04 a.m. Bangor had 2.5 inches as of 9 a.m. By 4 p.m., tallies for many parts of the state had not been updated past the morning.

The storm continued to drop snow and sleet on much of the state through the afternoon.
